If a man stood in the street over the decapitated body of a Jew claiming Mein Kampf as the inspiration for his murder would you rush to defend Nazism? I doubt it.
So why, when a man with a London accent cites Surah al Taubah (a Chapter in the Koran) as the reason he’s just hacked a man to death, in broad daylight, does the media try to whitewash any connection with Islam and try to maintain the idiotic myth that Islam is a “religion of peace”?
The answer to this question, in case you didn’t already know it, is quite simple: Fear. Not the fear of getting chopped up or blown up by some fanatical Mohammedan – the chances of that are miniscule – No, you fear stepping outside the ambit of political correctness: The truth does not matter, it is the stultifying inanity of BBC style newspeak and the succour of the docile, ignorant crowd which you are fearful to give up.
The inter-web is awash with statements denying that this murder had any Islamic inspiration. Unite Against Fascism has published a statement saying,
“We do not hold Norwegian Christians responsible for the actions of the fascist Anders Breivik, whose 2011 rampage left 77 dead. We do not hold white people collectively responsible for Timothy McVeigh, the US neo-Nazi whose 1995 Oklahoma City bomb killed 168 people, or for David Copeland, the former BNP member who planted bombs across London in 1999. Nor should anyone suggest that Britain’s Muslims are collectively responsible for yesterday’s attack.”
This is a pathetic argument which relies entirely upon false equivalence. In his “Manifesto” Anders Breivik said, “I’m not going to pretend I’m a very religious person, as that would be a lie“. Timothy McVeigh was a theist-agnostic who professed no affiliation to any religion, and David Copeland’s stated motivation was, “to spread fear, resentment and hatred throughout this country, it was to cause a racial war.” None of them was motivated by religion. But Micheal Adebolja claimed the Koran and Allah as his motivation whilst addressing a witnesses’ camera. Besides, nobody is seriously claiming that Britain’s Muslims are collectively responsible for anything, as UAF suggests.
Unfortunately, Islam is!
ITV news seemingly made an editorial decision – I would not readily credit them with making an honest mistake – to dub over Micheal Adebolja’s references to the Koran in their coverage, and chose to manipulate their footage in order to couch his attempt at justifying the murder he’d just committed in purely political terms. (To their credit The Sun has not adulterated the footage which can be seen here. )
The BBC went further and invited Asghar Bukhari, a member of the Muslim public Affairs Committee, to reinforce the notion that British foreign policy is to blame for Muslim violence. Unsurprisingly, Mr Bukhari is a virulent Jew baiter, who once said in a Facebook post,
“There is no greater oppressor on this earth than the Zionists, who murder little children for sport.”
If that is the calibre of individual the BBC sees fit to represent the mainstream “Muslim Community” then the case against Islam is only reinforced. Of course, the willfully ignorant twittering-classes will whine about how such people people don’t reflect mainstream Muslim opinion and that the “true” Islam is peaceful. This is a claim which is demonstrably false.
The Pew forum recently published a survey of Muslim Public opinion in various countries which absolutely scuppers the notion that Islam has anything to do with peace, and instead shows it up for what it is: an unreconstructed, desert dogma whose only redeeming feature is the concomitant fact that it is 100% false.
I include some of the highlights of the aforementioned survey for your delectation:
When asked, “Do you favour or oppose the following: the death penalty for people who leave the Muslim religion?” A stunning 88% of Egyptian Muslims agreed – so much for the “Arab Spring”- Along with 75% of Pakistani and 58% of Malaysian Muslims.
When asked, “Do you favour or oppose the following: stoning people who commit adultery?” 84% of Afghan; 65% of Jordanian and 70% of Muslims from Niger agreed.
In light of this information I think you’ll agree that, whilst it is certainly backwards and barbaric, Islam has nothing to do with peace. And although a large majority of Muslims would not condone the actions of Michael Adebolja, it is Islam which motivates the unspeakably vile opinions illustrated above, which have no place in a civilized society.
Also, take note that this survey represents a cross-section of opinion from 3 separate continents among Islamic populations with separate cultural heritages and racial backgrounds, so if you must leap to the defence of Islam don’t play the race card, because it makes you look like an idiot.
